The ADDIE Model
The ADDIE model is a widely popular design model used by instructional designers and eLearning developers. Addie is an acronym where each letter stands for a different phase when creating effective training and lesson materials.
The model consists of five phases:
- Analysis
- Design
- Development
- Implementation
- Evaluation
Each phase offers a vigorous and flexible direction for creating efficient training and educational content. The ADDIE model is so versatile and straightforward that it can be applied to various topics or trainings which makes a designer who utilizes it a competitor in the instructional design field. It can be used to create K-12 learning experiences, corporate trainings, training manuals, guides, and more. Many organizations prefer their instructional designers to use this method since it allows the designer to analyze and efficiently create content that is promised to deliver desirable results.
